Bulk Email Express Get Started Help

Configuration of a SMTP secured server Address like Gmail or Hotmail

To be able to send hundreds of messages you must configure your program.

For your outgoing messages you must have an SMTP server address or an IP address. We recommend our users to use an SMTP server address. An SMTP server is the type of server used to send your emails. If possible, copy your settings from your existing E-mail client program (such as Outlook).

We recommend you to use your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) SMTP server address. You may however use any SMTP server you have access to. (Most people find it useful to use the same settings in their Email client if possible).

To add the secured server address, you need to:

  1.  On the left Panel, click on the "Settings" tab then select "Use SMTP Server". The program offers this option by default. Click "Add or Edit SMTP Servers".

  2. To set up your sending method, click on the "Add or Edit SMTP Servers" button. The "SMTP Server Settings" dialog box will be displayed.
  3. To add an SMTP server address, you need to click on the “Add” button. See the screenshot below (step 0).

    SET Hotmail SMTP Server:
  4. In the field “Outgoing Mail Server Address (SMTP)”, enter the address of your server (e.g. smtp.gmail.com). If you don’t know the address of your server, contact your Internet service provider (ISP) or your technical support department. They will be able to provide you the right information. Bulk Email Express offers a list of providers and server addresses all over the world. To consult the list, go to visit our Web site (www.bulkemailexpress.com).
  5. Check the box “Use SSL Port’’
  6. Port: indicate a value (e.g.: 465).
  7. SSL Mode- Select “Dedicated SSL Port (Onconnect)” or – “Try Start TLS on regular port”. Depending on your server address. *First time, try “Dedicated SSL Port (Onconnect)”.
  8. Check the box “Required Authentication”.
  9. Authentication Mode: Auto
  10. Enter your username and password. You may need to use one of your SMTP server provider email address to be able to send emails and set the program.

  12. Click on the “Ok” button to close the dialog box and to save the data.
  13. See if the configuration is well done – For the test, add your email address in the contact list – If this address was not in the list…Click “Add New Contact” button from the taskbar.
  14. On the contact form, enter your email address in the first field and click "Ok" button to save and close the dialog box.
  15. Enter the sender’s information. Click "+" button to add your information. See the screenshot below.

    When sending an email, your name will be displayed in the “From” field of the outgoing message. You can enter any email address or name in this section. Enter your name (e.g.: Mike Tyson or Email Marketing Bulk Email Express Inc., etc.) as you want it to appear.

    Note*: In order to send messages, some Internet Service Providers (ISP) requires that clients enter the same email address in both the “User Name” and the “Your email address (From)” fields. If the data does not match, in some cases, you will not be able to send messages. *The field 'User Name' is in the settings dialog box (see the screenshot above (step 3).

  16. Add a subject in the subject field (e.g. Email Marketing Software & SEO Services).
  17. Create or import a message in the message editor. You can also use a template for your newsletter.

  18. Compose and save your message. From the “File” menu, select “Save the E-Mail Message As...”. The “Save…” dialog box will be displayed. Give a name to your mailing list (e.g.: E-mail blaster software) and click on the “Save” button.
  19. From the taskbar, click on the “Send” button in order to send the message to yourself.

  20. On the left Panel, you have to look up on the “Contact Lists & E-Mail Editor” tab under the Status column for the sending progress. When an email is sent correctly you will see the message "Send With Success…". If you don’t receive this message, it means that your message was not delivered, and you should review the configuration. Make sure that you have the right information. Once the email is sent, Bulk Email Express has no control over the delivery time.
  21. Give the server a few minutes to deliver the message. If you receive the message in your Inbox it means that the program is properly configured and you're ready to send bulk emails.

    To remove a server address, you only need to select the address on your list and to click “Delete” button.

    To cancel, just click “Cancel” button. If you click “Cancel”, your data will not be saved.

Note:

If you are sending messages but they do not show up on the inbox…so check the following:

  1. Double check the settings & the email addresses.
  2. Verify that you don’t have a firewall or antivirus like Norton or McAfee that are blocking your outgoing messages.
  3. Be patient.  Usually the message delivery is instant, but we've seen where the ISP has delayed the delivery of a message for hours.
